• Meet the Business Today Trustees

    Business Today’s board of Trustees serve as advisors and overseers for each of Business Today’s programs. Comprised of Business Today alumni, the board of trustees represents a diverse mix of industry experience, further education, and leadership during their tenure with Business Today. Specifically, the BT Trustee board is focused on management and leadership within the organization, creating new programming and improving existing programs, and managing BT’s multi-million dollar endowment.

Albert Choi

Albert Choi ’15 has served as a trustee of Business Today since 2014, and was President of the organization in 2013. At Princeton, he concentrated in Classics with a certificate in Finance. His thesis explored how social dynamics have a quantitative impact on the financial system in the early Roman Empire. Albertfocused his BT presidency on recovering from a difficult fiscal year, revamping the culture of the organization, and expanding into the tech and startup sector through the establishment of a multi-year partnership with Sequoia Capital for the Start @ A Startup Conference. He also founded the USG Committee on Diversity and Institutional Equity, as well as the Princeton Leadership Education and Diversity (LEAD) Summit. Albert is currently a Federal Consultant at Deloitte Consulting in Washington D.C., with experience in growth strategy development, performance measurement, and human-centered design. He recently returned from 5 months in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he helped design and execute the country’s first government-wide performance measurement system.

Julia Mehra

Julia Mehra is the Head of Growth & Strategy at SENREVE, a newly-launched luxury handbag brand for the millennial professional woman. Based in San Francisco, SENREVE was founded in the fall of 2015 to deliver beautiful and versatile products that address the “wants” and “needs” of the modern woman. The company has raised angel capital from prominent investors including the Chairman of JetBlue, Founder/Vice Chairman of First Republic Bank, Founder of Interwest Partners, Former Sequoia partners, and Former Head of Consumer and Healthcare for Warburg Pincus.

Originally from the Midwest, Julia started her career at Morgan Stanley in the Fixed Income Capital Markets group in New York City. There, she advised consumer and retail companies on financings for M&A, special projects, and other strategic initiatives. While at Morgan Stanley, she worked with leading consumer and retail brands like Coca-Cola, P&G, Starbucks, and Nordstrom.

Julia most recently worked in the Digital Innovation and Mobile Product Development groups at Sephora, where she identified and prototyped new technology to drive future innovation at the company. She was part of the team responsible for launching Sephora Virtual Artist, Pocket Contour, and Augmented Reality.

She is also passionate about serving on the Business Today Trustee Board, after having served on the Seminar Series team for 4 years, and as its Assistant Director and Director her junior and senior years at Princeton University. Since 2013, she has served on the Board of Directors of Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC), a NYC-based and global-reaching nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism.

Julia graduated with high honors from Princeton University with a degree in history. She also holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Amira Polack

Amira Polack ’12 led Business Today in 2010, and served as board chair in 2014 and 2015. Amira is passionate about tech with positive social impact. While pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School, Amira is an avid spin instructor and runs an early-stage fitness tech startup. Previously, she was the founding director of customer success at Kespry, a leader in commercial drones, managed major global communications initiatives for SAP, and worked for Hybrid Solutions in the Philippines. Amira is an emerging voice for young women, tech, and social impact, and has been featured in publications such as Forbes and the WEF Agenda.

Sally Genster Robling

Sally Genster Robling is a C-Suite leader with a history of generating growth and stakeholder value across markets, channels, geographies and business conditions. She is a builder of brands, proven general manager, and successful innovator, who has participated in multiple successful M&A transactions.

Sally is the non-Executive Chairman of Plated, the venture backed technology company committed to making it easy to eat well.  Built on data and supply chain excellence, Plated provides an exceptional cook-at home dinner experience for food engaged millennials. Through Robling Advisors, she works with early stage food innovators, including Bowery, The Modern Farming Company, helping them to build their brands and businesses. She is also serves on the Board of Lifetime Brands, the industry leader in kitchen tools and tableware.

Sally was EVP of Pinnacle Foods, a $2.5 B Blackstone company, exiting after its successful 2013 IPO. At Pinnacle, she was key in the transformational Birds Eye acquisition and was the founding President of the $1.1B Birds Eye Division. Under her leadership, the Birds Eye team delivered record earnings and industry leading levels of innovation. Sally championed a breakthrough public-private partnership for Birds Eye, growing the business and earning a first ever public endorsement from First Lady Michelle Obama.

Sally started at Kraft where she advanced to Marketing Manager, Desserts.  She joined Campbell’s where her roles included Marketing Leader for Soup, VP Sales for emerging channels and GM of its fastest growing business, Beverages. Subsequently, Sally was CMO of Trane (American Standard) where she served as advisor to Senior Leaders  and was instrumental in building marketing capabilities and executing new growth strategies.

A Princeton graduate, Sally holds an MBA from Darden. She serves on the Share our Strength Leadership Advisory Council and on the Business Today Board of Directors As a business leader, mother and citizen, Sally believes in the powerful positive impact of capitalism and the essential contribution of women at all levels in business.

Julio Rojas Sarmiento

Julio Rojas Sarmiento is currently the Chief Strategy and Digital Officer for Banco de Bogotá, the second largest bank in Colombia.  Prior to this position, he graduated from Harvard Business School, where he was named a George F. Baker Scholar (highest honors).  Previously, Julio worked as an Associate at Goldman Sachs in the Financial Institutions Group (Investment Banking Division) where he focused on banks.  Before Goldman, Julio lived in Bogota, Colombia and worked in the Office of the Chairman at Grupo Aval, the largest financial institution in country.  Julio graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 2010.  He was president of Business Today in 2008 and has served on the Board of Trustees since 2009.

Daniel Salvato

Daniel Salvato is a Senior Associate at J.C. Flowers & Co., a private investment firm dedicated to investing globally in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Mr. Salvato was a member of the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs for two years in New York where he focused on the banking and specialty finance sectors.

Daniel Salvato serves on the Board of Directors of AmeriLife Group Holdings, an annuity, life and health insurance distribution company headquartered in Clearwater, Florida.

He received an A.B. cum laude in Economics and a Certificate in Finance from Princeton University. During his time there, he also served as the Finance Director of Business Today.

Michael Short

Michael Short is a Principal at the Houston office of Bain & Company, a leading global strategy and management consulting firm. He is a leader in Bain’s Oil & Gas practice, where he focuses primarily on helping his clients with projects relating to strategic planning and operational performance improvement. Michael has a particular interest in the disruptive impact of the shale gas and tight oil booms across multiple industry segments; he has worked with clients on four continents in business areas spanning upstream, refining & marketing, OFSE, and chemicals.

While a student member of Business Today, Michael served as President, Director of the International Conference, and a three-time Corporate Contacts Manager. A Trustee since 2007, Michael has been a member and Chair of the Finance Committee and the Endowment Advisory Board. Michael holds a A.B. in Economics and Finance, phi beta kappa, from Princeton University. He lives in Houston with his wife and two children.

Jonathan Scott Hastings

Jonathan is a product manager at an eCommerce site called Jet.com, recently acquired by Walmart in 2016. As a product manager, he works with a team of engineers and software designers to build technology and solve complex technical problems.
